Symposium the youth parliament-topic

The topic of the Symposium is as follows:
"India’s first vision dates back to 1857, the vision of a free and independent India, the vision that guided the anti – colonial movement and made India Independent in 1947. India then joined the list of the developing nations and needed a second vision urgently to become a developed nation.
The question arises: what was the vision of India after 1947? Were Nehru’s "socialistic pattern of society", Indira Gandhi’s "Garibi Hatao", Rajiv Gandhi’s "modernization" and Narasimha Rao’s "Liberalization and Privatization" agenda pursued within a "vision-vacuum"?
Is there a need of another vision or revolution which leads to a radical change in our thought process, policy making and self-actualization or are we progressing steadily towards development? If you believe in the former option, what will be that vision (in respect of the common man / youth) and the path; if it’s latter, how can the youth accelerate the growth towards a developed and free India?"
Entries must be mailed to symposium2007@gmail.com , latest by 15th February, 2007.
Make sure that your entry contains all the relevant information about you viz. name, college, contact address and telephone number, if any.

Symposium2007@ IIT-Roorkee

The Youth of this country thinks and dreams of a resurgent India, an India which is strong at all fronts – economic, social, cultural, intellectual, military and over all, spiritual. The youth of the country is craving for expressing their own views and ideas to achieve this. Their inherent aspiration needs an expression. A nation wide debate needs to be ensued amongst the educated youth who think fervently on the state of affairs.
This event aims at providing a platform to the energetic and passionate young generation of India, to assemble and give a thought to the present day problems of our India, and to come up with some valuable solutions through important discussions.
